SUMMARY:2022 Agriculture Livestock Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Dickinson Area Chamber invites you to our third annual educational event featuring special guest speakers on February 15 at the Roosevelt Grand Dakota Hotel in Dickinson. \n\n \n\nForum Speakers\n\n\n\nMike Pearson\n\n\n\n\nWhat's Driving Agriculture in the Year Ahead?\n\nGet ready to laugh and learn with Mike Pearson as he takes you on an entertaining journey a look ahead at the outlook for the farm markets and global trends impacting these markets. \n\n \n\nBio:\n\nMike Pearson was born and raised in South Central Iowa\, where he grew to love agriculture on his family's hog and cattle farm. After graduating from Simpson College\, Mike moved to Grinnell\, Iowa where he had the chance to build his own cow herd in addition to working as an agricultural lender. Over the next 10 years\, Mike left the world of finance and entered the world of media. He's previously hosted "Market to Market" on Public Television\, the Ag News Daily podcast\, and currently\, viewers can find him behind the anchor desk on "This Week In Agribusiness" with Max Armstrong and Orion Samuelson\, which can be found on RFD TV or hundreds of local stations each weekend. \n\nMike has a lifetime of experience in the world agriculture\, until recently farming himself and feeding cattle.\n\n \n\n \n\nComments:\n\n"We had nothing but positive feedback amongst our staff and from our customers about Mike's presentation. I personally thought Mike did a good job of breaking up all the charts and graphs and marketing talk\, with some personal stories and humor. Everybody enjoys a good laugh.\n\nBut more importantly\, I think our customers were able to leave with some valuable information about current issues effecting the commodity markets that pertain to their operation. That's really what we look for in a presenter or a topic. We want them to take away information they can use to make their business more successful.\n\n \n\nMike was on time\, well prepared\, and very professional. I hope we can have him back for another event in the future.\n\n \n\nI was a little unsure about dealing with Mike's "Agent" at first\, but I will also say it was very nice working with you and Kelly as we got this event planned. Kelly replied quickly when I e-mailed with questions and that is really great when working on a project like this."\n\n \n\nAustin Berry\n\nFirst National Bank of Creston (IA)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSteve Wooten\n\n\n\nSteve Wooten and his families Beatty Canyon Ranch in Kim\, CO were recognized as the 2020 Environment Stewardship Award Winner. Steve will be speaking on the sustainability of production agriculture\, and the importance of these practices in todays political environment. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n Agenda\n\n5:00 PM Registration & Social\n\n5:45 PM Supper\n\n6:30 PM Speaker Presentations\n\n\n\nMeal Included\n\nRoast Beef Au Jus\, Seasoned Roasted Red Potatoes\, and Glazed Carrots\n\n\n\nNeed More Information?
