Legal Assistant
Our law firm is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to support the daily operations of our practice. Our firm provides legal services to individuals, businesses, and public entities throughout North Dakota, and we value team members who take pride in excellent client service, careful work, and professional communication. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced office environment. This role works closely with attorneys to help manage documents, correspondence, scheduling, deadlines, and client matters so that work moves forward accurately and efficiently. Prior legal experience is preferred; however, training will be provided for the right candidate.

Schedule
Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Minimum Requirement
Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree, paralegal studies, legal assistant training, or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Use standard computer applications to manage documents, email, calendars, and data entry;
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client information;
Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and outside contacts to support workflow;
Assist attorneys with document management, correspondence, scheduling, and file organization;
Track deadlines, maintain calendars, and ensure timely follow-ups;
Review, draft, and organize correspondence, legal documents, and forms with accuracy and attention to detail; and
Gather and prepare information for client matters, helping ensure files are complete and matters progress efficiently.
Qualifications
Prior legal office, administrative, or professional office experience preferred;
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
Ability to communicate professionally in person, in writing, and by phone;
Ability to prepare and review correspondence, legal documents, and forms with attention to detail;
Ability to follow detailed instructions and produce accurate work;
Proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative; and
Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and contribute as part of a team.
